Chip MacGregor is a former publisher with Time-Warner and Hachette, an author and collaborative writer with a couple dozen books to his name, and a longtime literary agent. His diverse list of clients includes actors, musicians, priests, military heroes, television stars, and even the Writer-in-Residence at Oxford University. He has represented dozens of books on all the national bestseller lists (including hitting #1 on the NYT list), and the authors he represents have appeared on every major radio and TV talk show, had multiple films made (including a finalist for the Oscar's Best Picture), and have won numerous national awards. A popular writing conference speaker, Chip has presented workshops at more than 200 publishing conferences, taught at colleges and universities, and is frequently invited to speak to writers groups around the country on the topics of writing and publishing. He earned his BS with High Honors at Portland State University, an MA with Honors from Biola University, and did his doctoral work at the University of Oregon in Policy and Management, focusing on organizational development. He later did a post-doctoral semester at Oxford University in Medieval Church History. Chip has been written up in numerous writing and publishing-related magazines, is frequently asked for his opinions on trends in the publishing industry, and his blog was regularly on the list of Writers Digest’s “101 Best Websites for Writers.” He and his wife live on the Pacific coast.
