Jessica Saint Jean is a literary agent specializing in visual storytellers, representing primarily illustrators and author-illustrators, along with a select number of writers. Her clients work across all illustrated formats and genres in children’s publishing, from board books and picture books to middle grade and graphic novels. Before joining Root Literary in 2024, she was an agent at Jill Grinberg Literary Management, where she launched a boutique list of children’s book illustrators. With a decade of experience in publishing before transitioning to agenting, she previously worked as an editor at Barefoot Books and later in the art department at Candlewick Press. Her background in both editorial and art direction informs her approach as an agent, offering a comprehensive perspective to the creators she represents.
