Summer Intern Series: Introduction to Subsidiary Rights

The AALA’s DEI Committee presents the fourth and final panel, sponsored by Literary Agents of Change, in which literary agency interns get a sneak peek into various professions within the industry. The goal of the series is to provide interns with a sense of just how broad the publishing world is, and how many hands “touch” a book — from acquisition to publication and beyond! Interns from all AALA member agencies are invited to attend.

In “Introduction to Subsidiary Rights,” panelists will discuss the importance of subsidiary rights, and the alternative lives a book can live through translation, audio, film/TV, and more.

Panelists:
• Jennifer Choi, Subsidiary Rights Director at Little, Brown
• Henna Silvennoinen, Licensing Manager, Audiobooks at Spotify
• Kaya Baginsky, Scout at Daniela Schilingmann Literary Scouting
• Shivani Doraiswami, Manager at Grandview Entertainment

Moderator: Jane Chun, agent at Transatlantic Agency
