Anyone working at a literary agency in the United States is eligible to apply for membership in the AALA. Applicants must meet AALA’s professional qualifications and agree to adhere to its widely respected Canon of Ethics. All applications are reviewed by the Membership Committee, then submitted monthly to the AALA Board for consideration and approval. You may be asked for additional information if necessary.
As a volunteer-run organization, this process takes time. Applicants should anticipate a response in 4-6 weeks. If you have any additional questions or wish to double-check the status of an application, please be in touch with email@example.com.
You are not considered an AALA member until your application has been approved by the board and your dues are paid.
