After earning her master’s degree from the University of Florida, Laurie Dennison began her career as an English teacher. She then spent over ten years working as a freelance writer and editor in desktop publishing, including serving as a Pitch Wars mentor for five years. In 2022 she attended the Denver Publishing Institute, leading to an internship at Creative Media Agency, Inc. before stepping into her role as an associate agent and internship coordinator at CMA.

How to successfully present your work
I only accept email queries; queries sent through any other method will be deleted unread. Please email your query at (query@cmalit.com) and include the following in the body of the email: For fiction, the query letter and first five pages of text. For nonfiction, along with your query please include an extended author bio and the marketing section of your book proposal. Remember to write “query” and my name in the subject heading. I aim to respond to queries within 4-6 weeks. Responses to additional requested material may take several months. If you have interest or an offer, please make sure you check in so that I have an opportunity to review and respond.
