Susan Ramer

Susan joined Don Congdon Associates in 1986. She represents literary fiction, upmarket book club fiction (contemporary and historical) and narrative nonfiction. Susan is drawn to an authentic voice, unforgettable characters with an edge, and an unfamiliar, well-crafted story that is emotional in unpredictable ways. Her nonfiction interests include social and cultural history, smart pop culture, and literary memoir with a distinctive theme. She particularly likes a narrative that combines a personal thread with reporting and analysis of a broader social or cultural issue. Susan served two terms on the AALA Board of Directors (2014-2018).
